All students are encouraged to determine personal communication methods for those who may need to contact them. The College cannot accept incoming calls for students except in extreme emergencies. Students should inform their loved ones that in the event of a genuine crisis, they can contact Student Affairs, located in the Student Center, for assistance. The Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs, the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs, or an appropriate designee are authorized to interrupt class to provide a telephone message. Cell phones should be silenced in instructional, tutoring, and library settings.
Please note that the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) informs college staff about the type of information that can be shared with third parties. For example, employees generally cannot confirm attendance, school schedules, or the locations of students when an individual seeks to locate students.
